D&D Minis used as intended?

So I was late getting my D&D Minis. I have plenty now and will be using them to enhance my 3.5 gaming.

Does anyone know anyone who uses the minis like Heroclix or Mage Knight and plays the actual "Game" with them? I know wizards keeps updating rules and posts but my circle of friends does not use them and I wanted to know if anyone still does.

Sorry about the delayed response.

Wizards stopped releasing actual skirmish rules for them, though I do believe they have optioned the rights to someone else to release rules online for the future miniatures they produce. I will look into more when I have a chance and give you some more information.

As far as actually playing the game, personally I never have, I use them as game enhancers as you stated. I wouldn't mind checking this out sometime down the road when I have time. The rules are easy enough to get a hold of. Sorry I don't know anyone currently playing the wargame aspect of D&D miniatures.
