We are going to try something a little different. Here at TJ's, we want to encourage people to come on down and have fun with out fear that it gets "to competitive." Therefore, we are changing our Friday Night Magic prize structure to 5-3-2-2 (similar to Magic Online prize structure), per draft pod, so that more people get a prize, in addition to the exclusive foil FNM promo card.
We hear what you are saying; do not worry competitive players, we still have something for you. Our Wednesday night booster draft is designed specifically for you with a prize payout, per draft pod, of 8-4 just like the old days.
These changes take effect starting this week. Please let us know what you think. We always welcome your feedback.
We are proud to announce the next Magic the Gathering set release: Rise of the Eldrazi! Part of the Zendikar block, this set will act as a mini-stand alone (similar to the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor blocks) and played by itself for booster draft and sealed deck.
Pre-releases for this event will take place here at TJ Collectibles (two days) and in Connecticut at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Club in East Hartford (one day). The format for this even, like all Pre-releases, is Sealed Deck. We will also have booster drafts throughout the day as well as a Two-Headed Giant event in East Hartford.

And thus, with the Pro Tour San Juan season coming to a close, we are happy to announce our next round of Pro Tour Qualifiers, this time for Pro Tour Amsterdam featuring one of the most popular Magic formats: STANDARD! TJ's has three PTQ's this season at the following locations:
Qualify for the Pro Tour, see the world! The winner of each event qualifies for an invitation to Pro Tour Amsterdam, including FREE airfare! Additional product prizes to the top 8 and beyond. This is a competitive event and features a Rules Enforcement Level (REL) of 3. Players are expected to know the rules and bring pen, paper and dice or counters as appropriate. Deck lists are required. As a Standard (Type 2) event, only the newest in-print sets are legal. Those sets are: Shards of Alara, Conflux, Alara Reborn, Zendikar, Worldwake, Rise of the Eldrazi (after 4/18/10), and Magic 2010.
